You may have heard recently that new funding called Community Firstis to be given to communities in need, and the North East Community Assembly area has been given £559,515 over 4 years to give out in grants. £250 is the minimum and £2,500 is the maximum amount for each project. Groups can re-apply each year.
The money is being held nationally by an organisation called the Community Development Foundation (CDF), but the decisions of which groups will be recommended for funding will be made by Community First Panels made up of members of the local community.
